Austin English is an artist and writer living in Brooklyn.
As a cartoonist, he has published the books Gulag Casual (2dcloud, 2016), Meskin and Umezo (Domino Books, 2021) and Christina and Charles (Sparkplug Books, 2005). He is currently working on a new long form graphic novel, to be published in 2027.
His artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States, including Marvin Gardens in New York and Et Al Gallery in San Francisco.
He is the co-managing editor of print edition of The Comics Journal, published by Fantagraphics Books. He won an Eisner Award for his work on the magazine in 2016.
He runs the comics publishing house Domino Books, which he founded in 2011.
He is the co-curator of The New York Comics and Picture Story Symposium, alongside Ben Katchor.
He teaches comics, drawing and art history at Parsons School of Design and The School of Visual Arts in New York City.
